The Bogdan Jański Academy (formerly the Bogdan Jański Academy of Management and Entrepreneurship in Warsaw) founded on 1993 by the Marian Piwko CR, has been listed, by the decision of the Ministry of National Education, into the Register of Private Higher Educational Establishments in Poland under the heading number 28.

The Bogdan Jański Academy, is a private school, which specialises, in academic education of people who enrol for regular, evening or extramural courses. The school also provides individual tuition as well as postgraduate studies for those who already possess a university degree.

The policy of the Bogdan Jański Academy is to provide professional as well as general education, which enables the graduates, first, to get a steady job and to be successful in their career, secondly, to act for the benefit of an employer, the nation and themselves. Our purpose is to educate wise and responsible people.

The Jański Academy provides students with both the necessary knowledge and skills vital in professional life and stresses the importance of ethics. While our curriculum includes the teachings of the Catholic Church, we are not strictly a religious school. We wish to remain tolerant and open towards people of different outlooks on life.

"Jański" - that's what our School is called more and more often, is not only one of the most dynamically developing non-public Schools in Poland, currently active in six regions of Poland thanks to our qualified academic staff, academic certification, and expanding the facility base.

"Jański" especially means educational programs linked to the economic and political reality of Poland, Europe, and the World.

The high standards of the Bogdan Jański Academy are confirmed by the State Accreditation Commission concerning the faculty of Management and marketing in both Bachelor's and Master's degree studies.

The Academy is dedicated to Bogdan Jański (1807 - 1840).

Our Academy is proud to bear its name to commemorate Bogdan Jański, thinker, lawyer, economist, Professor of Warsaw University of Technology, friend of Adam Mickiewicz and the editor of his works, spiritual leader of the Great Emigration.

Bogdan Jański a man of courageous, profound knowledge and inconventional thinking, was ahead of his time as well as of many people of the present in his views on not only economic activity, individual resourcefulness, and entrepreneurship, but also on the identity of Poland and the idea of a united Europe. This was demonstrated by his innovative approach to economics and his own resourcefulness and initiative.

He was a propagator of the concept of the "integrated man" combining such features as efficiency and competence with Christian values.

He was the founder of the Congregation of the Resurrection, known among other things from their educational activity in many countries all over the World.

Bogdan Jański beatification process was opened on the 19th of May 2005.

Truth
Seeking truth is the aim of science.

Goodness
Making good is the vocation of people of good will.

Efficiency
Efficiency as the ability to achieve set goals is the duty of people undertaking various tasks.

Truth is what every Christian, and particularly every Christian man of learning should care for and cherish. Goodness is the basis of education. Without goodness, any knowledge loses its importance or, in some cases, it may even turn against a human being. Effectiveness is essential for the practice of Truth and Goodness.

In the first years, the Jański Academy had non-departmental structure. There was only one area of Bachelor's degree studies: Management and Marketing. The first graduates obtained their diplomas in 1996.

In the years 1996-2004 the Jański Academy were granted permissions by the Ministry of Education to establish The Bogdan Jański Academy of Management and Entrepreneurship in Łomża, and open the Departments of the Jański Academy in Elbląg, Krakow, Chełm and Opole. In Warsaw was established two departments, department of management and department of social sciences. We are prepared in near future to open next Department in Zabrze.

In that time, on a strength of the Academy Board's decree, five faculties were formed, Management and Marketing (in Warsaw, Krakow, Chełm, Elbląg and Łomża), Sociology (in Warsaw, Krakow, Chełm, Łomża and Opole), Politology (in Warsaw and Krakow), Pedagogy (in Warsaw and Krakow) and Spatial Economy (in Warsaw, Elbląg and Chełm).

Just now the Jański Academy is prepared to open new following faculties: Administration, Tourism and Recreation, Foreign Affairs, Information Technologies and Econometrics. In July 1999 the Jański Academy was granted a license to offer Management and Marketing Master's degree courses.

The Bogdan Jański Academy has highly qualified academic staff, who set high standards of works and who in great measure deserve the credit for the Academy's rising status. In additions, The Jański Academy cooperates with a number of visiting professors from the Warsaw School of Economics, the University of Warsaw, the Krakow Academy of Economics, and others.

The teaching program and the overall organizational structure at the Jański Academy are based on those of leading Western business schools, with particular attention given to the needs of polish economy, especially in the fields of management, marketing, finance, computer science, sociology, politology and international relations.

The Academy offers postgraduate courses concerning with economics and financial relations between United Europe and Poland as a member of this community.

Presently, the Bogdan Jański Academy mean:
 

• over 7.000 students and a couple of thousand of graduates in five regions of Poland
• a modern educational offer, attractive faculties, interesting fields of specialty. Professional teaching staff - from best public universities (UJ, AE, KUL, AGH, AP) and modern teaching programs
• fully equipped teaching rooms, libraries, computer laboratories and a fixed internet access
• foreign language education at a high level
• organizing of scientifically conferences, seminars and symposiums
• the publishing possibility in the Academy's magazines, like the "Zarządzanie I Edukacja" (Management and Education)
• our students organise and participate in various charity and social campaigns and have the possibility to actively take part in the cultural life . Students take part in the organization of "Juwenalia", organize charity actions and achieve numerous scientifically and sport successes. They are the champions in volleyball, strength triathlon and academic vice-champions in table tennis. There is also a modern dance theatre and a choir in our academy.

What makes "Jański" distinctively different among other Universities is apart from the education program, a special program that is aimed at developing among its students an attitude of responsibility and service for their fatherland. The aim of Janski Academy is to educate highly - qualified specialists with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills combining professionalism with Christian moral values.

While the Academy Authorities and the lecturers pursue these ideas in their work, they are conscious that young people will want to enjoy their time of studying.

In the Year 2005, declared the "Year of National Service", we develop the activities aimed at educating and preparing Janski students for creative efforts striving towards a reality with special emphasis on ethics in all kind of activities.

Bearing in mind the integrity of man together with the intellectual, spiritual, and professional spheres, we give our "ethical managers, sociologists, political scientists, and educators" the chance to promote social, cultural, and sport activities.
